Top-earning speed camera locations in Melbourne were revealed
The locations of Victoria’s highest-earning speed camera tickets from October through December of last year have been made public.
Victorian speed cameras issued infringements to more than 375,000 vehicles, with fines totaling more than $108 million.
According to recent statistics, the Broadmeadows Western Ring Road camera caught the most offenders.
Over 30,000 penalties were issued over four lanes, and the camera took in little under $11 million.
More than 12,000 penalties were incurred in lane three.
David Whitehead had been operating an interstate truck for 20 years when, on the Western Ring Road, he was handed seven speeding tickets from the same camera.

Heidelberg – Rosanna Road and Darebin Street intersection: 23,807 violations
Warrigal Road and Batesford Road intersection in Chadstone: 23,401 violations
West Melbourne – King Street and La Trobe Street Intersection – 18,502 infractions
Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive in St. Kilda: 18,107 infractions at this intersection
Melbourne Airport – Terminal Drive and Centre Road Intersection – 11,593 infractions
In Victoria, there are more than 246 speed cameras and 175 red light cameras.
In Victoria, the fine for exceeding the speed limit by less than 10 km/h is $207; the fine for exceeding it from 10 km/h to 24 km/h is $330.
Speeding over 25 to 29 km/h is punishable by a $454 fine and a three-month automatic license suspension.
