In a car fire along the Western Port highway, a woman and two children died
The cause of a fatal car fire in Melbourne’s south-east, which killed three people, including two young children, is being investigated by arson detectives.
The circumstances of the incident in Cranbourne West on Thursday night are still being investigated, but police say they are not seeking for any suspects.
The three has yet to be officially recognized, but authorities suspect they are a 30-year-old lady and two little kids.
Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, Victoria police and fire services were dispatched to a fire on Western Port Highway. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered three dead inside the burned-out truck. A crime scene was constructed once the fire was put out.
The truck was photographed just off the roadway, in front of a farm gate.
Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who observed the fire or has dash-cam footage of it.
