An 11-year-old girl is reportedly stabbed in Melbourne by two children
Two minors have been charged for allegedly stabbing an 11-year-old girl in Melbourne’s southeast in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A 14-year-old boy, a 12-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old girl reportedly approached the girl in Gallery Lane at Bayside Centre in Frankston at 12.15am on Thursday.
According to police, the gang demanded that the girl hand over her phone and other belongings before stabbing her numerous times with a sharp weapon.
The girl was allegedly stabbed in the back, kicked repeatedly, spit on, and racially insulted as her attackers illuminated the laneway with an iPhone torch.
Officers from the transit police department reacted to the event and apprehended the youngsters.
The Port Melbourne youngster, 11, was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A 14-year-old boy from Frankston and a 12-year-old girl from Highett have both been charged with armed robbery and assault.
The two were ordered to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
